Types of Whitening Teeth Products
Whitening products use peroxide-based gels or abrasive pastes to reduce surface and deeper stains. Options include whitening toothpastes, strips, trays, LED kits, and professional in-office treatments. The American Dental Association notes that peroxide whiteners change tooth color, while abrasives remove surface stains.
How to Choose Effective Products
Look for the ADA Seal of Acceptance, appropriate peroxide levels, and clear usage instructions. Consider sensitivity levels, fit of trays or strips, and treatment length. Products with lower concentrations are generally safer for daily use, while higher concentrations may offer faster results when used as directed.
