Frida Kahlo Painting and Art as a Hobby
Frida Kahlo is best known as a painter who turned personal pain into vivid self-portraits. She often painted at home, using bold colors and symbols from Mexican folk art. Her hobby of painting helped her express emotions after a serious accident and throughout her life.
Gardening and Nature at Casa Azul
Kahlo spent much time gardening at her home, Casa Azul, in Coyoacán, Mexico. She grew native plants, cacti, and flowers that appeared in her art. The garden became a peaceful retreat and a source of inspiration for her paintings and daily life.
Mexican Folk Art and Collecting
Kahlo collected traditional Mexican objects, including textiles, ceramics, and retablos. She enjoyed visiting markets and learning about regional crafts. These hobbies influenced her style and helped her celebrate Mexican culture in her work.
