Most Read Books on Goodreads in 2025
Goodreads tracks annual reading activity based on user shelves and ratings. The platform’s most read books in 2025 reflect titles that attracted the highest number of ratings and reviews during the year. These rankings are derived from Goodreads’ public reading challenge data and member activity.
Top Genres and Reader Trends
Fiction, fantasy, and contemporary romance continue to dominate the most read lists. Readers often gravitate toward titles with strong online communities, book club adoption, and social media visibility. Nonfiction titles in business, psychology, and biography also see consistent engagement on the platform.
How Goodreads Rankings Are Determined
Goodreads rankings are based on the total number of ratings and reviews a book receives within a given period. The site uses member shelves, reading progress, and explicit ratings to compile its annual data. For current figures, see the official Goodreads Most Read Books page.
