Current Plank World Record

The official Guinness World Record for the longest plank is held by Daniel Scali of Australia. He held an abdominal plank position for 9 hours, 30 minutes, and 1 second. The record was set on August 6, 2024, at a live event in Adelaide. The attempt was fully supervised and verified by Guinness adjudicators.

Plank World Record Rules

Guinness requires the plank to be performed on the forearms and toes with the body kept straight. The hips must not sag, and the athlete cannot rest on the hands or knees. Any break in form ends the attempt. The event is timed continuously, and the clock stops only when the body touches the ground or the position changes.

How the Record Was Verified

Multiple witnesses, including event staff and Guinness officials, monitored the attempt throughout the session. Video footage was recorded from several angles to document the full duration. After review, Guinness confirmed the time and officially recognized the result. For detailed guidelines on record verification, see the Guinness World Records website here.
