What Is a Survivor Rock Draw

A survivor rock draw is a tiebreaker method where participants each select a rock, and one hidden rock eliminates the holder, leaving the others to continue. It is used when no other fair method can separate tied individuals or groups.

In reality TV, such as Survivor, rock draws occur when votes are tied and no tiebreaker challenge is available. Players pull rocks, and the person with the odd or marked rock is eliminated from the game.

How a Rock Draw Works

Facilitators place one marked rock among several identical ones. Each tied participant selects a rock in secret. When everyone reveals their choice, the person holding the marked rock is removed from the competition or decision process.

Why It Matters

Rock draws create a random but decisive outcome when strategy or performance cannot break a tie. They are used in games, negotiations, and survival scenarios to ensure fairness and prevent endless deadlocks.
